Chelan Branch Construction

September 7, 2022 - Update

We are continuing to make great progress on the building of our Chelan branch and administrative offices. The structural erection was completed last week. Rimmer & Roeter is now working on non-structural interior and exterior framing on all three floors. KRCI is back onsite performing excavation for the light-pole bases, car chargers, and the drive-through teller canopy. Beckstead Electric is assisting with the site work fixtures as well. In the coming weeks, we will have Vail Roofing installing weather barrier, American Quality Coatings performing the timber finishing, and Cashmere Plumbing & Inland Fire Protection performing rough in.

August 1, 2022 - Update

We are excited to share the most recent progress of our new Chelan branch and administrative offices! We are currently erecting the second floor of the timber structure and are completing the structural portions of the first floor wood framing. We have a hard working crew from Foust Fab on site that will continue putting together the timber structure through the next three weeks. Rimmer and Roeter contractors are working behind the erector on interior and exterior wall framing, all of which was delivered from Valley Lumber in Okanogan. As the building continues to go up, local subcontractor Cascade Powder Coating will deliver and install steel members inside the walls and ceiling. These will support the parapets, canopies, sunshades, and bump outs on the final exterior of the building. Final occupancy is planned for the first quarter of 2023.

May 24, 2022 - Update

We are in the final stages of foundation work and are installing the last of the underground utilities. In about a month, we will be ready to start the framing. The completion of the building is still scheduled as planned for early February 2023.

Our contractor will be installing the building foundation over the next few weeks. Preparation for the structure will continue until the Cross Laminated Timber is delivered by Vaagen Timbers in early May of 2022. Once the timber is delivered, walls and floors will be constructed. The completion of the building is still scheduled as planned for early February 2023.

Construction site of the new North Cascades Bank Chelan Branch location.

What is happening?

We are going to construct a new branch and administrative office space for North Cascades Bank on our existing bank property at 220 E. Johnson Ave. During the construction process our branch will be temporarily located across the street at the old Lake Chelan Pharmacy building – 223 E. Johnson Ave.

Where will the temporary branch be located?

Across the street at 223 E. Johnson Avenue in the space that used to occupy the Lake Chelan Pharmacy.

What will happen to the existing branch?

As soon as we fully vacate, we will demolish the existing building and begin construction of a new facility. We are planning for demolition to occur in November or as soon as we secure a demolition permit.

Why aren’t you remodeling your existing branch?

Our existing branch and administrative spaces have configurations that restrain us from creating a space with the functionality, efficiency, and safety features we desire for our staff and customers.

How long will the construction take?

We are hoping to have the new building completed and ready to open in January 2023.

What are the benefits of building a new branch?

Our customers will enjoy a updated lobby experience with easier access to customer service and restrooms. We will also offer two fully functional drive thru lanes, a convenient bike rack, and two electric vehicle charging stations.

Our employees will all be able to work in the same building. We have 35 employees here in Chelan and for over 25 years, several of our back-end departments such as our call center and our electronic banking department, have worked across the alley from our main building. Our staff is looking forward to being in closer proximity to each other for more efficient support and collaboration.

Who is doing the demolition and construction?

Rimmer and Roeter Construction out of Wenatchee will be the contractor for this project. They are a long-time partner of ours and have helped us with several other construction projects over the past few years.
